    NOBLE RICHARDSON: A UNIQUE, HAND PAINTED 1966 FAN ART POSTER FOR "KHJ RADIO PROUDLY PRESENTS THE ROLLING STONES, THE STANDELS (SIC), THE McCOYS, BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD, AND THE TRADEWINDS AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL"

One 28 x 22" heavy construction paper sheet hand painted with tempera and colored marker recto only. This is an amazing unique vintage fan art poster produced by the beloved late Twentynine Palms-based artist Noble Richardson to celebrate the 1966 Hollywood Bowl appearance of The Rolling Stones. Then a nineteen year old student at Los Angeles' Mt. San Antonio College, Richardson created this vibrant piece utilizing tempera and colored markers employing lettering inspired by the burgeoning San Francisco psychedelic poster scene. The actual concert was promoted by popular LA top 40 "Boss Radio" station 93 KHJ, and presented headliners The Rolling Stones preceded by The Standells (misspelled here as "The Standels"), The McCoys, Buffalo Springfield, and The Tradewinds A most handsome, well-preserved example of this one of a kind original artwork SIGNED "Richardson" in black ink on the lower right face showing some minor creases, a dozen pinholes and a few short closed tears along the along its edges. This was acquired directly from Noble Richardson prior to his passing in 2021. Inventory Number: 027307
