"¡Queremos Vivir!" is a lovely little 1950 pamphlet produced by the legendary Mexican Graphic Arts workshop Taller de Grafica Popular (TGP) for the Comité Mexicano por la Paz, para el Segundo Congreso Mundial por la Paz en Varsovia, Polonia. It features nineteen original woodblock prints on pale pink newsprint by TGP-affiliated artists Mariana Yampolsky, Adolfo Mexiac, Jesus Escobedo, Pablo O'Higgins, Leopoldo Mendez, Ignacio Aguirre, Guillermo Monroy, Alberto Beltrán, and Francisco Mora in support of prohibiting the testing and use of Nuclear weapons. A bright, spectacularly well-preserved example of this exceptionally uncommon - not a single copy currently appears in OCLC WorldCat - publication showing none of the chipping or fading one would expect of such a wildly fragile production (entry 800 in Helga Prignitz' "El Taller de Gráfica Popular en México 1937-1977") additionally BOLDLY SIGNED IN PENCIL by Mendez, O'Higgins, and Aguirre in the lower margin of pages bearing their prints. Mariana Yampolsky has additionally penciled the INSCRIBED PRESENTATION "Rose / May this not / Be the Last time! / How I enjoyed your / visit / Love / Marianne." Inventory Number: 026914
