MICK ROCK: A VINTAGE ORIGINAL GELATIN SILVER 8 x 10" PHOTOGRAPH OF DAVID BOWIE AS "ZIGGY STARDUST"
(BOWIE, DAVID) (ROCK, MICK). Rock, Mick. London: Mick Rock Studio, 1972. First Printing. 4to. Silver Gelatin Photograph. Fine.. One 8 x 10" black and white silver gelatin photographic print on glossy, single-weight paper. This is a vintage photograph by Mick Rock of the late, great David Bowie onstage at London's Rainbow Theatre in August 1972 - the shows during which the iconic performer premiered "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars". He is pictured wearing one of several quilted bodysuits Freddie Burretti designed for Bowie's Ziggy persona with closed eyes playing an acoustic twelve-string guitar. This print bears a "Photography by MICK ROCK" studio stamp in red ink on the verso, and was acquired by me personally from the renowned photographer in October 1972 when he was in Los Angeles documenting Bowie's two shows at The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. A bright, most handsome example. Inventory Number: 026897
