    FERUS: GAGOSIAN GALLERY ANNOUNCEMENT

(FERUS GALLERY). Gagosian Gallery. New York: Gagosian Gallery, 2002. First Edition. Small Oblong 4to. Printed Paper. Exhibition Announcement. Fine.. One 8 x 10" sheet of thick cardstock printed offset recto and verso, 1 b&w illustration. Designed by Bruce Mau Design Inc. This is the stylish invitation/announcement card produced for the monumental 2002 Gagosian Gallery exhibition of forty-four artworks celebrating Ed Kienholz and Walter Hopps' visionary Ferus Gallery. It reproduces full-bleed the 1960 William Claxton image of a dashing Irving Blum aboard the good ship "Ferus Gallery" surrounded by a bevy of fetching models that includes Peggy (Mrs. Claxton) Moffitt. The exhibiting artists were John Altoon, Larry Bell, Billy Al Bengston, Wallace Berman, Bruce Conner, Jay DeFeo, Richard Diebenkorn, Robert Irwin, Jasper Johns, Donald Judd, Craig Kauffman, Ellsworth Kelly, Edward Kienholz, Roy Lichtenstein, Ed Moses, Kenneth Price, Edward Ruscha, Kurt Schwitters, Hassel Smith, Frank Stella, and Andy Warhol. A brand new, most handsome example of this uncommon ephemeral item - not to be confused with the exhibition catalogue for the same show. Inventory Number: 026438
