DONALD JUDD: RAUME SPACES (KUNST + DESIGN / ART + DESIGN)
(JUDD, DONALD) (EBERLE, TODD). Judd, Donald, Franz Meyer, Rudi Fuchs, Renate Petzinger & Todd Eberle. Wiesbaden & Ostfildern-Ruit, GERMANY: Museum Wiesbaden & Cantz Verlag, 1993. First Edition. 4to. Boards in Pictorial Jacket. Artist Monograph. Fine/Fine. 160pp, profusely illustrated in color and b&w. Text in English and German. With a biography, exhibition history and bibliography. This lovely monograph on the late, great Minimalist giant Donald Judd was published in conjunction with his selection as recipient of the Stankowski Foundation Prize in 1993. It focuses on his buildings at 101 Spring Street, New York and Marfa, Texas, and his work to transform their interior spaces by means of architecture, furniture design, and the artwork displayed within. Noted photographer Todd Eberle was commissioned to newly document these spaces, and his austere images aptly reflect the aesthetic of the artist. These capture Judd's private interiors, showing his own artwork, furniture and cabinetry work, as well as his extraordinary collection of pieces by the likes of Josef Albers, John Chamberlain, Dan Flavin, Claes Oldenburg, Ad Reinhardt, Lucas Samaras, Frank Stella, John Wesley, and more. A bright, most handsome example of the 1993 first hardbound edition. 3-89322-618-4 Inventory Number: 026412
