This is the charming poster produced by Darien House Publishing in 1977 for the late, great magician/prestidigitator/card-thrower/actor/scholar/raconteur Ricky Jay's very first book, "Cards As Weapons". Subtitled "A manual on the art of throwing, scaling, juggling, boomeranging and manipulating ordinary playing cards to provide a deadly yet inexpensive means of self-defense", it features a series of delightful illustrations by artist Gary Cooley of Jay demonstrating these feats, including fending off a giant octopus and landing a tossed playing card atop the Great Pyramid. A handsome example of this uncommon poster additionally bearing the SIGNED PRESENTATION "For Sandra / With Best Wishes / Ricky Jay" in black ink beneath his central portrait showing some mild handling and edgewear.
