One 12", two-sided vinyl 33 1/3 rpm long playing phonograph record in a printed paper over cardboard gatefold sleeve with a color cover. Designed by Allen Ruppersberg. Issued in 2011 by Al Ruppersberg's Orion Read Records, this is the first vinyl appearance of artist-songwriter-musician Terry Allen's legendary 1971 solo performance at Al's Grand Hotel - Ruppersberg's equally iconic six-week Hollywood hostel cum art installation. Professionally recorded by Wally Heider's Mobile Studio, it features Allen classics "Truckload Of Art" and "Juarez Device (AKA Texican Badman)" along with "Red Bird" "Flipside: A Side - Baby How I Know, B Side - Together", "Late 1961 (Or The 3701 28th St. Cowboy Blues)", "Pink And Black Song", "Cowboy And The Stranger", "Maybe", "Border Palace", "Dogwood", "Writing On The Rocks (Across The USA)", "The Radio...And Real Life", "Off Malibu (For Mike Baylog (sic)), and an introduction by the estimable Earl McGrath. A brand new, unopened and unplayed example of the first and only Orion Read pressing (OR-1) limited to five hundred copies still in its protective plastic sleeve, as issued. Inventory Number: 026290
