  • Lawrence Weiner: Handbill For New Order, Certain General + Karen Finley At Club "1018"

    $0.00 SOLD More Info

LAWRENCE WEINER: HANDBILL FOR NEW ORDER, CERTAIN GENERAL + KAREN FINLEY AT CLUB "1018"

(WEINER, LAWRENCE) (NEW ORDER). Weiner, Lawrence. New York: New Order, 1986. First Edition. 12mo. Printed Paper. Concert Flyer. Fine. One 6 x 4 ¼" sheet of die-cut glossy paper stock printed in colors, recto only. Designed by Lawrence Weiner. This is the handbill for the December 5th, 1986 New Order performance at New York's Club "1018" presented in honor of the recently deceased New York club promoter Ruth Polsky. Sharing the bill were Karen Finley and Certain General, along with DJs Frank Callari, Mark Kamins, Richard Sweret, and Walter Durkacz. Commissioned by New Order in a period when they also collaborated with artists William Wegman, John Baldessari, Barbara Kruger, and Robert Longo, this is a striking example of Lawrence Weiner's stylistic blend of text, color and geometry. A bright, most handsome example of this uncommon ephemeral item. Inventory Number: 026209
