ART SPIEGELMAN: COMIX, ESSAYS GRAPHICS AND SCRAPS - FROM MAUS TO NOW TO MAUS TO NOW

(SPIEGELMAN, ART). Spiegelman, Art. Roma, ITALY: Sellerio Editore-La Centrale dell'Arte, 1999. Second Printing. Large 4to. Wrappers in Illustrated Jacket. Artist Monograph. Fine./Fine.. 104pp, profusely illustrated in color and b&w. Designed by RAW Books & Graphics. "Breakdowns..." is a 1977 large-format, pre RAW Magazine anthology of short strips by "Maus" creator Art Spiegelman. A handsome example of the "disputed" 1977 first hardbound printing which was according to Belier Press publisher J.B. Rund limited to one thousand, six hundred and sixty-seven copies bearing a Nostalgia Press Inc. imprint on the title page with Rund's "Don't Believe Everything You Read..." bookplate correcting that misconception and substituting his own alternate ISBN (0-914646-14-1) affixed to the facing page next to what appears to be a non-authorial inscription in red ink. It has been priced accordingly. 0-915043-07-6 Inventory Number: 026158
