TALKING HEADS: SPEAKING IN TONGUES - DELUXE EDITION WITH PACKAGING DESIGNED BY ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG
(RAUSCHENBERG, ROBERT) (TALKING HEADS). Talking Heads. New York & Burbank, CA: Sire Records Company & Warner Bros. Records Ltd., 1983. First Edition Thus. Large Square 4to. 12" Vinyl LP in Plastic Sleeve. Artist's Multiple. Fine/Very Good. One 12", two-sided vinyl 33 1/3 rpm long playing phonograph record in a silkscreened plastic jacket. Designed by Robert Rauschenberg. This is the limited edition of the iconic 1983 Talking Heads LP "Speaking in Tongues" whose deluxe packaging was commissioned from Robert Rauschenberg. Pressed on clear vinyl, its outer sleeve is an interlocking clear plastic enclosure with three rotating, overlapping internal discs featuring media imagery appropriated by the artist. A brand new, most handsome example of the record portion of this striking artist's multiple (cited on page 204 of Ursula Block and Michael Glasmeier's "Broken Music: Artists' Recordworks", page 146 of Guy Schraenen's "Vinyl: Records and Covers by Artists", and pages 348-349 of Francesco Spampinato and Julius Wiedemann's "Art Record Covers") whose outer packaging has yellowed over time - as is typical. It has been priced accordingly. Inventory Number: 025553
