TERRY RICHARDSON: HYSTERIC GLAMOUR
(RICHARDSON, TERRY). Richardson, Terry & Harland Miller. Tokyo: Hysteric Glamour, 1998. First Edition 1/1000. 4to. Boards in Pictorial Jacket. Photography Monograph. Fine/Near Fine. np (152pp), profusely illustrated in color and b&w. Text in English. This notorious first book by Terry Richardson was published in conjunction with an exhibition for au courant Japanese fashion purveyors Hysteric Glamour. The photographic subject matter here includes male and female nudes (with genitalia blacked out for Japanese consumption!), dogs and cats (with genitalia intact), clowns, garish decor, lots of young revelers reveling, and self-portraits - pretty much all of the imagery you've come to expect from the flash-saturated, ready-to-wear bad boy. A most handsome example (cited on page 48 of Martin Parr and Gerry Badger's "The Photobook: A History Volume II" and pages 372-373 of The Hasselblad Center's "The Open Book") of this transgressive classic limited to one thousand unnumbered copies showing just a bit of creasing to the top edge of the dust jacket. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the explicit nature of some of the content here, you must be at least eighteen years of age to order this item. Inventory Number: 025324
