DERRIERE LE MIROIR NO. 148 JUILLET 1964: LA FONDATION MARGUERITE ET AIME MAEGHT- WITH SIX ORIGINAL LITHOGRAPHS

(DERRIERE LE MIROIR). Maldiney, Henri. Paris: Maeght Editeur, 1964. First Edition. Folio. Pictorial Boards. Art Periodical. Good +/No Jacket - As Issued. 70pp, profusely illustrated in color and b&w. Text in French. Designed by Max Weber. This edition of Maeght's legendary periodical featuring the great artists and writers of the 20th Century is a hardbound volume devoted solely to the opening of La Fondation Marguerite et Aime Maeght at St. Paul. A particularly beautiful installment, it contains six original lithographs specially executed for the issue by Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti, Marc Chagall, Raoul Ubac, Joan Miro, and Pierre Tal Coat. An internally bright, complete example whose fragile pictorial covers show noticeable rubbing, scratches and abrading - primarily along the extremities. It has been priced accordingly.
