CYCLOPS - SIGNED BY ALBERT WATSON

(WATSON, ALBERT) (CARSON, DAVID). Watson, Albert. Introduction by James Truman. Visual Essay by Jeff Koons. New York: Callaway Editions & Bulfinch Press, 1994. First Edition. Small Folio. Pictorial Boards in Jacket. Photography Monograph. Fine/Fine. np, profusely illustrated in quadratone illustrations. Separations by Richard Benson. Designed by David Carson. This lavishly produced first book of Albert Watson's is an elaborate collaboration between the esteemed Scottish photographer, publisher Nicholas Callaway, Carson, Benson, and artist Jeff Koons. The title "Cyclops" wryly acknowledges Watson's lack of sight in one eye, and it is filled with lush, monochromatic fashion images and celebrity portraits. A most handsome example of the oversized first hardbound edition (cited on pages 362-363 of The Hasselblad Center's "The Open Book") additionally BOLDLY SIGNED AND DATED "Albert Watson L.A. 94." in the year of publication vertically in thick gold marker across the entire title page along with a discreet three line non-authorial presentation in ink to a well-known Los Angeles creative team on the verso of the front pastedown. 0-8212-2141-8 Inventory Number: 019738
