BRUCE WEBER: ALL-AMERICAN XXIII: LET'S TAKE AN OLD-FASHIONED WALK

(WEBER, BRUCE). Weber, Bruce, Nan Bush, Joan Didion, Richard Blanco, Elmore Leonard & Carl Hiaasen. New York: Little Bear Press, I00231206. 2023. First Edition 1/1000. 12 x 9 1/2", 4to. 1/4 Linen Over Wrappers. Photography Monograph. New./No Jacket - As Issued. 168pp, 89 color and 141 duotone illustrations. Art Director - Nathaniel Kilcer. Borrowing its title from a classic Irving Berlin song popularized by Frank Sinatra and Doris Day, Bruce Weber’s latest installment of his All-American journal series presents a joyful array of passionate performers, visual virtuosos and dedicated altruists. The performing arts take center stage in this 23rd edition. Weber offers portfolios and profiles devoted to long-time friends and musical collaborators including the bassist Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the boundary-breaking Broadway icon Chita Rivera and Eduardo Marturet, the celebrated composer and maestro of the Miami Symphony Orchestra. Weber shares a personal essay in praise of the gallery owner Lee Witkin and the photographer George Tice, whose work opens the volume. As always, Weber utilizes All-American as a platform for celebrating rising talents, including the sculptor Ido Yoshimoto, photographed at home in Inverness by Natalia Ortega and Emil Cohen, whose spectacular photo portraits are presented in conversation with the French figurative painter Jacques Sultana. Continuing his life-long advocacy for animal rights, Weber showcases the trials and triumphs of two animal organizations he discovered this year: New York Bully Crew and Kent Animal Rescue. All-American XXIII: Let’s Take An Old-Fashioned Walk includes texts by Joan Didion, Richard Blanco, Elmore Leonard and Carl Hiaasen." A brand new, most handsome example still in the publisher's shrinkwrap. 979-8-218-30857-5 Inventory Number: I00231206
