JASON LEE: A PLAIN VIEW - SIGNED BY THE PHOTOGRAPHER

(LEE, JASON). Lee, Jason & Will Gillham. Denton, TX: Film Photographic in collaboration with RF Book Co., 2018. First Edition 1/1800. Oblong 4to. Wrappers with Pastedown. Photography Monograph. As New./No Jacket - As Issued.. 180 pages, 111 color illustrations. Designed by Chris Brown, RF Book Co and Jason Lee.

"A PLAIN VIEW" is the most recent chapter in Jason Lee's ongoing photographic exploration of rural America that began more than a decade ago with large format Polaroid films on the back roads of California. This lavishly produced lay-flat softbound book is comprised of one hundred and eleven color images made throughout Texas over the course of twenty-five days between January and April of 2017 using expired Kodak 4 x 5 color films and a Graflex Speed Graphic view camera accompanied by a text by Will Gillham, the Head of Publications at The Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth. Says the author "Having relocated to Texas from California in 2015, I felt it important to explore my adopted state more extensively than I had in the past as a visiting photographer. "A PLAIN VIEW" is the result of that exploration". A brand new, pristine example of the 2017 first edition limited to one thousand, eight hundred copies with a 4 x 5 film-size laminated print adhered to the front cover SIGNED by Jason Lee in ink.

PLEASE NOTE: Copies of "A PLAIN VIEW" will be signed by Mr. Lee at Arcana on Saturday May 26th and shipped beginning Tuesday, May 27th. If you would like to pre-order a signed copy and collect it at the event, please indicate this in the "notes" section of your order.
