This is a limited edition cloisonné pin commissioned by the Peter Norton Family Foundation in 1991 from noted conceptual practitioner Laurence Weiner for use as their annual holiday gift. More recent Norton Family editions have included objects by Takashi Murakami, Vik Muniz, Christian Marclay, Brian Eno, Kara Walker, Lorna Simpson, Yasumasa Morimura, and many others. The 1 x 1 ¼" pin bearing the text "Stars Don't Hold Still in the Sky (For Anybody)" is housed on a cotton cushion inside a 2 x 2 ¼ x 3/8" white-with-red-lettering sliding paper matchbox-style enclosure.
