    (GRAPUS) (LOEWY, RAYMOND). Grapus. Paris: Galerie Impressions 1900-1950, 1987. Edition Not Stated - Presumed First. Elephant Folio. Screenprinted Poster. Exhibition Poster. Near Fine.. One 40 x 28 ¼" heavy paper sheet screenprinted in colors, recto only. Designed by Grapus. This is the iconic poster created by Grapus for a 1987 exhibition held at Paris' Galerie Impressions 1900-1950 devoted to the work of the legendary American modernist designer Raymond Loewy. Its vibrant pink and black design incorporates illustration along with collaged photographic images of Loewy and his Studebaker Avanti, and both typeset (RAYMOND LOEWY GENIUS / GALERIE IMPRESSIONS 1900-1950  43 RUE DE VERNEUL  PARIS 7  DU LUNDI AU SAMEDI  14H30/19H, and handwritten text (Raymond Loewy dessine la Studebaker / du 1er au 15 juin 1987) with fluorescent and metallic inks. A flat, handsome example of this uncommon and classic poster held in the Museum of Modern Art's permanent Design collection that was acquired directly from the gallery showing some light creasing along the edges.
