VELOUR: THE DRAG MAGAZINE - A COMPLETE SET OF ALL THREE ISSUES

(HOUSE OF VELOUR). Velour, Sasha & Johnny Velour. NP (Brooklyn, NY). 2015, 2016 + 2017.: House Of Velour. First Editions. 4to. Illustrated Wrappers. Drag Magazine. Fine.. 98 + 114 + 116pp, profusely illustrated in color and b&w. "Velour: The Drag Magazine" was the short-lived lavish, trailblazing mid-teens publication from Brooklyn's "House of Velour." An annual collaboration between artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and performer Alexander "Sasha" Hedges Steinberg - aka Sasha Velour, winner of the 2017 edition of "RuPaul's Drag Race", and art-director Johnny Velour, the publication ran for three issues stylishly covering all things drag, and then some. "Designed by Velour in her signature style, it features illustrations, collages, fashion editorials, poems, interviews, and essays on the themes of "What is Drag?", "Realness", and "Sister" by over seventy-five queer artists and drag performers from around the world. Since it's inception, the magazine has been dedicated to showcasing the work of drag queens and drag kings, queer, trans, AFAB, and non-binary drag artists from all backgrounds." A brand new, most handsome complete set of all three issues (the first being titled "Vym" rather than "Velour") of this uncommon - only fourteen entries between the three are currently cited in OCLC WorldCat - item.
