LIVE IN YOUR HEAD: WHEN ATTITUDES BECOME FORM - WORKS - CONCEPTS - PROCESSES - SITUATIONS - INFORMATION. AN EXHIBITION SPONSORED BY PHILIP MORRIS EUROPE 22. 3.-27. 4. 1969

Szeemann, Harald, Scott Burton, Gregoire Muller, Tommaso Trini & John A. Murphy. Bern, SWITZERLAND: Kunsthalle Bern, 1969. First Edition. 4to. Printed Cardstock Binder. Exhibition Catalog. Good.. np, profusely illustrated in b&w. Text in English, German, French and Italian. In a protective clear acetate dustwrapper. With a bibliography and biography + portrait for each participating artist. This is the uniquely designed catalogue published in conjunction with "Live in Your Head: When Attitudes Become Form" - Harald Szeemann's landmark international survey of then new Conceptual and process works. Exhibited between March 22nd and April 27th 1969 at the Kunsthalle Bern, and sponsored by the Philip Morris Tobacco Company (!), the participants were Carl Andre, Giovanni Anselmo, Richard Artschwager, Thomas Bang, Jared Bark, Robert Barry, Joseph Beuys, Alighiero Boetti, Mel Bochner, Marinus Boezem, Michael Buthe, Pier Paolo Calzoleri, Paul Cotton, Hanne Darboven, Walter de Maria, Jan Dibbets, Ger Van Elk, Rafael Ferrer, Barry Flanagan, Ted Glass, Hans Haacke, Michael Heizer, Eva Hesse, Douglas Huebler, Paolo Icaro, Alain Jacquet, Neil Jenney, Stephen Kaltenbach, Jo Ann Kaplan, Edward Kienholz, Yves Klein, Joseph Kosuth, Jannis Kounellis, Gary B. Kuehn, Sol LeWitt, Bernd Lohaus, Richard Long, Roelof Louw, Bruce McLean, Walter de Maria, David Medalla, Mario Merz, Robert Morris, Bruce Nauman, Claes Oldenburg, Dennis Oppenheim, Panamarenko, Pino Pascali, Paul Pechter, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Emilio Prini, Markus Raetz, Allen Ruppersberg, Reiner Ruthenbeck, Robert Ryman, Fred Sandback, Alan Saret, Sarkis, Jean-Frederic Schnyder, Richard Serra, Robert Smithson, Keith Sonnier, Richard Tuttle, Frank Lincoln Viner, Franz Erhard Walther, William Wegman, Lawrence Weiner, William T. Wiley, and Gilberto Zorio. Each artist is accorded an individual loose page with a photographic portrait, biographical details, and images of their proposed works. These are alphabetized, sorted by tabbed dividers, and gathered in a printed cardboard binder with a spring-loaded clasp that secures its contents. A complete, internally handsome example of this uncommon and important conceptual document bearing light creasing and dog-earing to the corners of the textblock. Its notably brittle covers show some typical soiling, wear, and heavy creasing plus a few short closed tears to the extremities and ends of the spines. All in all, this is a most solid copy that looks nicer in hand than it describes.that has been priced accordingly. Inventory Number: 026880
