(RAINER, YVONNE). Rainer, Yvonne. Halifax, CANADA & New York: Press of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design & New York University Press, 1974. First Edition. 4to. Gilt-Stamped Buckram. Dance Monograph. Fine/Good +. 338pp, profusely illustrated in b&w. With a chronology and bibliography. In a protective clear acetate dustwrapper. Published by the Press of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, this is the first monograph on the pioneering contemporary New York dancer/choreographer Yvonne Rainer. A most handsome example of the exceedingly uncommon 1974 first edition issued in silver gilt-stamped black buckram boards additionally bearing the SIGNED PRESENTATION "For ... - in contrition and gratitude - Yvonne May 1997" in black ink on the half title page showing some wear, soiling, short closed tears, and some mild spotting to the dust jacket. Laid in is the six page illustrated brochure cum screening schedule from the Getty Research Institute's 2014 "Yvonne Rainer: Dances and Films" program. 0-8147-7360-5 Inventory Number: 026541
