"Slash" magazine's founder Steve Samiof was also the creative light behind the contemporaneous, lesser-known Los Angeles rag "Stuff". Published irregularly between 1978 and 1981 in a tabloid format, it was a free giveaway (often delivered to vendors along with the latest "Slash") in which trendy local boutiques, galleries and creative types took all out full page advertisements that accounted for virtually the entirety of its editorial content.
