GIANNI VERSACE: 1946-1997 - THE LIMITED SLIPCASED VOLUME DISTRIBUTED AT MR. VERSACE'S MEMORIAL SERVICE

(VERSACE, GIANNI). Sischy, Ingrid, Editor. NP. ND (1997).: NP. First Edition. Small 4to. Cloth with Pastedown. Fashion Monograph. Fine/No Jacket - As Issued. np (108pp), 2 color illustrations + b&w slipcase pastedown. Text in English. In a protective clear acetate dustwrapper. This is the beautifully designed and produced commemorative volume distributed to the attendees of the July 22, 1997 memorial service for Gianni Versace held at Milan's Roman Catholic cathedral. Housed in a black linen over boards slipcase featuring an Andy Warhol portrait of the slain fashion icon, this somber volume was printed on heavy art paper and features reproductions of two watercolors by Francesco Clemente. It contains a foreword by Ingrid Sischy followed by remembrances from Versace's colleagues and friends Woody Allen, Jon Bon Jovi, Sandy Brant, Tina Brown, Naomi Campbell, Cher, Jane Fonda, Suzie Frankfurt, Elizabeth Hurley, Marc Jacobs, Elton John and David Furnish, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Courtney Love, Marylou Luther, Richard Martin, Patrick McCarthy, Steven Meisel, Demi Moore, Frank Moore, Lisa Marie Presley, Robert Rauschenberg, Lou Reed, Herb Ritts, Hal Rubenstein, Amy Spindler, Sylvester Stallone, Sting and Trudie Styler, Anna Sui, André Leon Talley, Elizabeth Taylor, Liz Tilberis, Bruce Weber and Nan Bush, and "Ed and Julie". A most handsome example in slipcase of this uncommon "hors commerce" item that was distributed only at the event, and never made commercially available for sale. Inventory Number: 026240
