Issued as an artist's project in conjunction with the 1992 Sonsbeek festival, this "Kikkerbell" was California-based conceptual practitioner John Knight's artist's multiple in the form of a handlebar-mountable, ratcheted bicycle bell that emits a croaking sound meant to warn the frogs that amass along the banks of Den Haag's canals of oncoming, potentially deadly art-loving cyclists. It represents one of the very few individual object-oriented artworks created by Mr. Knight for introduction into the marketplace.
