DENNIS HOPPER: FOTOGRAFIEN VON 1961 BIS 1967 / PHOTOGRAPHS FROM 1961 TO 1967

(HOPPER, DENNIS). Ammann, Jean-Christophe. Salzburg, AUSTRIA & Dusseldorf, GERMANY: Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac & Galerie Hans Mayer, 1988. First Edition. 4to. Pictorial Boards. Photography Monograph. Near Fine/No Jacket - As Issued. np, 39 duotone illustrations. Text in English and German. With a filmography, exhibition history and bibliography. Issued in conjunction with a 1988 touring European exhibition, this beautifully designed and printed catalogue was the second publication of Dennis Hopper's photographic work. It contains great shots of primarily the art, music, and film scenes in Sixties Los Angeles including eighteen not included in his previous volume - "Out of the Sixties". It includes images of the Civil Rights movement, bikers, and street scenes as well as portraits of Peter Fonda, Paul Newman, John Wayne and Dean Martin, Ike and Tina Turner, Joan Baez, Larry Bell, Bruce Conner, Teri Garr and Toni Basil, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Ed Ruscha, Ed Kienholz, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, Allan Kaprow, Jean Tinguely, and more. A most handsome example of the uncommon hardbound first edition in pictorial boards (that shares the same ISBN as the paperback version) showing a mild crimp to the upper foredge tips along with just a bit of rubbing to the covers. It has been priced accordingly. 3-85562--015-6 Inventory Number: 025803
