Deberny et Peignot were perhaps the premier modernist type foundry in Art Deco period Paris. Their designer of choice was the renowned French illustrator A.M. Cassandre. To promote Deberny et Peignot's typefaces, the firm published the lavish "Divertissements Typographiques" on an annual basis between 1928 and 1933 - skipping 1932. Thematically entitled "Travaux De Ville", "Publicite", "Edition", "Europe et le Studio", and "Pharoaon", each installment contains several stylish Cassandre-designed components laid into a graphically striking heavy paper portfolio. A bright, exceptionally well-preserved complete set of all five Fonderies Deberny et Peignot editions showing the occasional bit of minor wear, soiling, and age-toning. Inventory Number: 025314
