DAVID LEVINTHAL: MEIN KAMPF - DELUXE SIGNED BOXED EDITION WITH AN ORIGINAL COLOR PHOTOGRAPH

(LEVINTHAL, DAVID). Levinthal, David, Roger Rosenblatt & James E. Young. Afterword by Garry Trudeau. Santa Fe, NM: Twin Palms Publishers, 1996. First Edition 1/100 Deluxe. 4to. Cloth in Clamshell Box. Photography Monograph. Fine/No Jacket - As Issued. 88pp, 56 color illustrations. Designed by Jack Woody. "Since his first publication in 1977, "Hitler Moves East", photographer David Levinthal has explored a panoply of compelling issues in representation. Using toy soldiers, dolls, and other figurines, in "Mein Kampf" Levinthal has created dramatic tableaux which engage the narrative of Hitler’s rise to power and the Nazi campaign to wipe out the Jews". This elegant yet sobering production features fifty-six images of Levinthal's sobering miniature tableaux, texts by Holocaust scholars Roger Rosenblatt and James E. Young, and an afterword by the photographer's college friend and co-author of "Hitler Moves East", Garry Trudeau. A brand new, most handsome example of the deluxe edition limited to one hundred copies NUMBERED (43/100) AND BOLDLY SIGNED "David Levinthal" in ink on the colophon with a matted 10 x 8" Cibachrome color photograph from the series NUMBERED (43/100), SIGNED AND DATED "David Levinthal 1996" in ink on the verso both housed in the publisher's black linen-over-boards clamshell box.
