RETO CADUFF: FRECKLES - SIGNED BY THE PHOTOGRAPHER

(CADUFF, RETO). Caduff, Reto & Jonathan Rees. NP (Los Angeles): Splice Pictures Publishing, 2012. First Edition 1/500. 4to. Gilt-Debossed Cloth in Jacket. Photography Monograph. Fine/No Jacket - As Issued. np (96pp), 46 tri-tone illustrations. Text in English. In a protective clear acetate dustwrapper. Swiss-born, Los Angeles-based Reto Caduff is a filmmaker, publisher, and photographer. Over the years during his work with models, Caduff noticed how often their freckles were covered by make up before shoots or digitally removed afterward. He decided to celebrate this beauty by photographing nearly one hundred freckled women - including noted actress Faye Reagan - from the shoulders up over two years in a way that accentuated the contrast in their skin tone. About half of the resulting images made it into the book, whose preface is written by distinguished dermatology professor Jonathan Rees, who discovered the MC1R gene that is responsible for the development of freckles. A brand new, most handsome hors serie, unnumbered example of the quickly sold out 2012 first edition of this lushly-produced tome limited to five hundred copies additionally BOLDLY SIGNED "Reto Caduff" in black ink on the title page. 0-9848202-0-5 Inventory Number: 024275
