"In his photographs of reconstructed rooms and places Thomas Demand explores a notion of reality that guides our perception of a media and technology-dominated world. For this purpose he produces life-size reconstructions then are perfectly lit and photographed with a large-size camera. What, at first sight, seems to be a hyperrealistic reproduction of reality proves, at a closer look, to be a model". This is a lovely catalogue that combines Demand's images interspersed with texts about, the artist was published in conjunction with a major 2004 exhibition held at the Kunsthaus Bregenz. A brand new, most handsome example of the Schirmer/Mosel Verlag "Collectors Edition" limited to one hundred copies issued in a pale grey linen slipcase accompanied by an identical chemise containing the archivally mounted and matted 12 x 14" digital color pigment print "Detail XII, 2005" - a tabletop still life tableaux - on handmade paper BOLDLY SIGNED AND NUMBERED by Thomas Demand on the verso, as issued. 3-829601-71-9 Inventory Number: 024086
