Vale's short-lived, highly revered late seventies 'zine notable for its coverage of the Bay Area punk and transgressive cultural movements that was the precursor to RE/Search. Each issue includes contributions on or by such innovators as Bruce Conner, The Sex Pistols, The Screamers, Nico, Helen Wheels, Suicide, Crime, The Nuns, The Dils, Talking Heads, The Dickies, Devo, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Lance Loud and The Mumps, Dead Boys, Sham 69, Charles Gatewood, The Feederz, The Plugz, Exene Cervenka, Russ Meyer, The Mutants, William S. Burroughs, J.G. Ballard, Jello Biafra, Dead Kennedys, The Ramones, Jon Savage, John Waters, David Lynch, Vivienne Westwood, The Buzzcocks, The Clash, The Cramps, Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Damned, Captain Beefheart, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, Pere Ubu, Subway Sect, Television, The Avengers, The Weirdos, Blondie, The Residents, Roky Erickson, and many, many more as well as great period advertisements.
