This is the enlarged and redesigned edition of Joel Sternfeld's landmark first book of ironic color photographs, 1987's "American Prospects". Digital scanning and offset printing techniques have caught up with the photographer's eye, and this current version succeeds in presenting Sternfeld's seminal work as it was meant to be shown. It is in a substantially larger format printed by Gerhard Steidl, and includes an additional essay by curator Kerry Brougher. This is one of the classic volumes of seventies American photography, available once more in a bigger, bolder edition.
