    MIXED MEDIA MONTAGES

(STERLING, LINDER) (SAVAGE, JON). Sterling, Linder, Jon Savage, Edward Bell, Ian Pollock & George Snow. London: George Snow, 1978. First Edition. 4to. Loose Contents in a Portfolio. Artists' Book. Very Good -.. Twenty individual 11 ½ x 8 ¼" glossy sheets printed recto only, laid into a black and white printed paper portfolio cover, 20 b&w illustrations. "Mixed Media Montages" is the legendary, and legendarily scarce collaborative publication featuring the punk-era collage/montage work of Jon Savage, Linder Sterling, Edward Bell, Ian Pollock, and George Snow. "Jon Savage is the noted author of "England's Dreaming" and "Teenage". Linder Sterling is a visual, performance and installation artist represented in the Tate permanent collection. Privately published by Snow in 1978 following the appearance of "The Secret Public", it contains four black and white plates by each of the five participating artists. Those by Linder, Snow and Pollock are stamped in ink on the rear of the sheets A internally bright and crisp example of this early and influential punk rarity showing some overall wear, handling and typical creasing along the extremities of the portfolio.
