THE GREYHUFF REVIEW: PRESENTING OUTSTANDING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR THE DISCRIMINATING ART LOVER TOGETHER WITH A FRESH INSIGHT INTO PROVOCATIVE TOPICS - FIRST EDITION
(GREYHUFF REVIEW, THE). Greyhuff Review Editorial Staff. Minneapolis, MN: Directory Services, Inc., 1965. Edition Not Stated - Presumed First. 4to. Gilt-Stamped Padded Boards. Gay Periodical. Very Good/No Jacket - As Issued. np (34pp), 29 monochrome illustrations. Taking the form of the ubiquitous post-war hotel guest directory, "The Greyhuff Review" was a luxe production bound in a gilt-stamped, padded faux leather ring bindier whose contents were meant to appeal to the discerning gentleman that preferred the company of other gentlemen. Running for three issues in the mid-sixties, this first installment from 1965 features a mixture of tepid anonymous essays and prose on the subject of homosexuality accompanied by sixteen removable gravure reproductions of muscular, well-endowed male nudes printed on heavy textured paper stock. A handsome example of this uncommon item - only ten copies are currently cited in OCLC WorldCat - showing a bit of light wear and soiling to its white covers along with some age-toning to the edges of the textblock.
