In 1999, it was re-issued in a revised hardbound edition containing a new essay by David Halberstam along with numerous vintage color images published here for the first time. This amazing sociological dissection of the Northern California suburban sprawl of the late sixties and early seventies is truly one of the great American photography books of the last quarter of the 20th Century.
