SOL LEWITT: SET IIA / 1-24
(LEWITT, SOL). LeWitt, Sol. Los Angeles: Ace Galley, 1968. First Edition. Oblong 4to. Stapled Illustrated Wrappers. Artist's Book. Near Fine.. 24pp, 25 b&w illustrations + covers. Published in conjunction with a 1968 Los Angeles gallery exhibition, "Set IIA / 1-24" reproduces twenty-six full page drawings in Sol LeWitt's hand delineating a set of the artist's typically rigorous line and square permutations. An internally bright, most handsome example of this exceedingly uncommon item - only ten copies are currently cited in OCLC WorldCat - that was LeWitt's first stand-alone artist book (cited on page 30 of Giorgio Maffei and Emanuele de Donno's "Sol LeWitt: Artist's Books") as his two earliest publications were issued as part of "Aspen: The Magazine in a Box Number 5 + 6" and Seth Siegelaub's "The Xerox Book" showing some mild patination, browning, and soiling to its pale grey-green covers.
