A brand new, most handsome example additionally bearing the BOLDLY SIGNED PRESENTATION "For Artie, / T O P S / in my book - / Ed Ruscha" in black ink across the entire front pastedown. "Artie" is the incomparable late clarinetist, composer, bandleader, author, and actor Artie Shaw, whose discreet bookplate imprinted "from among the books of artie Shaw" is affixed to the inside front board. The two were good friends, and Ruscha created the 2000 painting "Artie's 90" for Shaw.
