This was only the noted late German artist's second one-person exhibition in America - preceded that same year by a show at New York's Metro Pictures. A most presentable example of this uncommon ephemeral item showing a diagonal soft crease through the lower right hand corner as well as a cancelled stamp and address label on the verso. According to entry number fifty in Uwe Koch's "Annotated catalogue raisonné of the Books by Martin Kippenberger 1977 - 1997": "Petra" was published to accompany the exhibition of the same name at the Galerie Gisela Capitain in Cologne from 9 September to 7 November 1987. In contrast to "Peter", the "Petra" publication contains only texts by women: a prose piece by Susanne Herbey, a poem by Heliod Spiekermann, a text by Ursula Bode and a quote by Anna Grasslin ("I wouldn't play the spermpot for Kippi"). Seven sculptures and a photo edition from Martin Kippenberger from the period 1986-1987 are shown, for the most part in the form of a detail and an overall view of the work. Like "Peter", this publication was based on the Piero Manzoni catalogue published in 1972 by Sonnabend, New York".
